BONUS BLOG =P (thanks Mrs.Fleming)
In the book Jekyll and Hyde, women are portrayed to be less important than men in society and were seen very little in the movie, if ever was to be seen they were played as maids, hurt, or elegant creatures (just like Jekyll's finance). In the movie, Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde are both interested in beautiful women. Jekyll wants to marry a woman and Hyde is attracted to another woman which leads to him killing her. The part where the girl is ran over is not put into action in the movie, but instead it adds a whole new scene, Legs and Hyde, their relationship. The part where the girl gets run over is quite unbelievable as well as young girls don't usually go walking around in 3 AM by themselves especially in the worst parts in London. The audience also enjoy a seen where love plays a role, as romance is a key factor in movies it added a plot which helped also describe women during that time period in society. It adds an extra fact about society, which some viewers enjoy. The following reasons are the differences between the movie and the novel and similarities between the women in the book and the movie. They both influence the plot. The girl that was run over and the woman that witnessed the murder than fainted which makes them seem so soft, were key individuals. Some similarities, the woman who was interested in Jekyll then influenced Hyde to get to know her more, then the woman Jekyll was to marry portrayed his impatience which influence him to create Hyde to go to "Legs" and start a weird relationship with her, which affects the theme and plot. The similarities and the differences of women were reasonable ones.

Defending Edward Hyde
I have to say that I must defend Hyde. He should not be sentenced to death or live in prison due to an uncontrollable act done out of illness and confusion. Mr. Hyde was not in his right mind at the time of the murder but, instead it was Jekyll controlling him. There is no doubt his act was a crime but, he shouldn't face the torture and pain of those concicuncens of Jekyll actions.
Everyday we live and fight our very own temptation, wrath, envy, anger, lust, and pride which were the very things that tempted Mr. Hyde into his crime. We all have a couple of temptations to let our evil side to take over us but, we are allowed to control those temptations which Hyde had no control over those temptations. Jekyll was the one who created the man we see right in front of us, Hyde. There for Jekyll is to blame of all of the crimes Hyde has committed, Jekyll is the cause of all this blame him for the problems! Remember this, Jekyll allowed Hyde to feed and grow on his evil as for a very simple solution was to put Hyde away but, Jekyll is not the man we thought well of but a demon himself. We cannot sentence Edward Hyde to death, for he himself is the VICTIM of this situation.

Character/Theme
In "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde", the character I'm most drawn to is Dr. Jekyll. I say this because he is so mysterious and seems he has a really interesting side to him that seems to be really weird but frighting on one hand. He is a character that is very shady and hides away in his laboratory like a tiger going to catch his prey, keeping himself distant from those who are supposed to be his old close friends. His mood changes a lot through out the story seeming as if he is bipolar and creates a dilemma in how his friends think and judge him. I currently believe that Stevensen was trying to pass a message through the character Jekyll, even the person you think is your friend may be in fact hiding horrible secrets.

Important moment in "Story of a Door"
In the first chapter "Story of the Door" of the book Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde there was a moments that make you think of what society was like in the old days.A mysterious man runs over a little girl and leaves her screming there on the floor.later on from that moment is when Enfield tells Mr. Utterson about how that man cashed the check to the bank but put the name under Dr. Jekyll even though the check was given to them by someone named Mr. Hyde. This story puzzled Mr. Utterson because he knows Dr. Jekyll and is also his lawyer.
During this event the mysterious man Mr. Enfield and even the parents of the child didn't take actions. The incident was dealt with money, and never mentioned or talked about again. In the story murder is not considered serious. To have lost some one that was really close to you, doesn't seem to harshly affect them.
In our now a day society, if a situation such as this was to occur, the perpetrator would immediately react and would feel sorry for the individual who they have murdered. In Jekyll and Hyde, evil seems to be widely accepted, and this situation supports it truly as if you just drop your pencil.
